Gourmet vegan bakery to soon satisfy Evanston’s sweet tooth  

EVANSTON, ILLINOIS. – New vegan bakery will soon grace the discerning taste buds of the Evanston area. 

Cinnaholic, the gourmet cinnamon roll bakery acclaimed for serving vegan, innovative cinnamon roll creations and for being featured on the TV show, Shark Tank, has announced that it will be opening this summer at 1596 Sherman Ave in Evanston on the corner of Davis St and Sherman Ave.

The grand opening signifies meaningful and continued growth for the gourmet cinnamon roll chain thanks to the great-tasing, plant-based, and allergy-friendly recipes of Cinnaholic. The Evanston location joins existing locations in California, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, Maryland, Washington, Florida, and even Canada. 

Cinnaholic gained national attention after the company was featured on ABC’s hit show “Shark Tank” and was offered an investment from one of the Sharks. The fast-growing brand was also recently featured on Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500® list. Cinnaholic began franchising in 2014 and has more than 100 locations open and in development.

Our first location has become a huge part of the Schaumburg community and we’re ready to share our passion and delicious desserts with even more people from our new Evanston location,” added Quiamzon, who is opening the bakery with his aunt, Liz Morales, and now also with his cousin, Phillip Morales.  

Mark and Liz are both lactose-intolerant and were always on the lookout for satisfying desserts that would accommodate their dietary restrictions. When they found Cinnaholic, the nephew-aunt duo knew that they had to share their find and open their own location. In addition to opening Cinnaholic, Mark has a background as a family nurse practitioner and is passionate about good food as medicine and health consciousness. Previously, Liz has worked in a variety of roles in the food and beverage industry and has dreamed of opening her own business for years, and Cinnaholic was the perfect fit. Phillip, who is born and raised in the Chicagoland area, joins the company with Mark and Liz to continue to grow the family-owned business and to further strengthen Cinnaholic’s connection to the local community. 

A cinnamon roll experience unlike any other, customers can choose from a variety of Cinnaholic’s signature frosting flavors and toppings to create their very own, mouthwatering cinnamon roll experience. Customers can expect nothing less than the great-tasting cinnamon rolls they love and the highest quality ingredients, as the plant-based bakery franchise was founded upon a commitment that the cinnamon rolls are delicious, and the ingredients are free of dairy, lactose, eggs and cholesterol. In addition, the Evanston location is working on obtaining Kosher Certification. The bakery also serves made-from-scratch brownies, cookies, edible cookie dough, baby buns, and hot and cold brewed coffee. Cinnaholic also offers catering options for weddings, parties, company events, and others.
